About the practice
Clinical rigour, delivered in a calm room
Body Mind Energetics was created for the professional whose labs look fine, yet who is living with anxiety, fatigue or low mood — and feeling the impact on both their personal and professional life.
We look at labs in a more analytical, deeper way, correlate them with your symptoms and lifestyle patterns then build a plan you can actually run alongside a full workload.

Alan Lee
Founder & Director of Training
Alan is a clinician, educator and researcher in functional medicine and functional neurology, specialising in the gut, hormonal and brain-based imbalances that sit underneath anxiety, fatigue and low mood. He also practises as an osteopath in Llandudno and Menai Bridge.
He has been teaching people how stress affects the brain — and how to protect it — since 1988, and brings two decades of yoga and Taoist internal arts to the lifestyle side of the work.

What We Do
A deep-dive analysis of the range and depth of your anxiety, fatigue and mood symptoms.
Assess the impact on your personal and professional life.
A lifestyle assessment including sleep, nutrition, exercise and stress load.
Provide access to lab tests from baseline to advanced via three of the top labs in the world.
Pool this information into a root-cause analysis and a written plan.
What We Don't Do
We don't rush appointments.
We avoid generic protocols.
We reject quick-fix medication.
We never guess blindly.
We don't mask symptoms.
Why we work this way
Brain fatigue is rarely one problem. It is usually a nervous system that has been asked to hold vigilance for years, a stress axis running on fumes, and a set of daily habits that never let either of them recover.
So the practice is built in three layers. Assessment first, because guessing is expensive. Then plant medicine to change the terrain the brain is working in. Then somatic practice, because the gains only stay if the body learns a new default.
You will always know what we are measuring, why a herb was chosen, and what we expect to see change by week four. If it does not change, we adjust — that is the whole point of a review cycle.
Mastering the body mind brain connection
Your brain, body, and nervous system are not separate systems — they are in constant dialogue. What happens in your mind affects your body's chemistry and physiology. What happens in your body sends signals back to your brain that shape your thoughts, mood, and resilience.
When you are under chronic stress, your nervous system stays in a heightened state of alert. Your body tightens, your breathing becomes shallow, and your brain interprets these signals as ongoing danger — even when the threat has passed. This feedback loop is what creates brain fatigue.
By working with all three systems together — assessing nervous system function, supporting the body through targeted nutrition and herbal medicine, and teaching somatic practices that reset your default state — we break the cycle and restore the natural communication between body, mind, and brain.

How the practice was built
1988
Brain Wellness Training Seminars
Transforming stress into vitality. The brain was not designed for exposure to unrelenting stress. In these seminars we taught the essentials of the impact of stress on the brain and how to protect the brain from excess cortisol the drug free way.
2014
Functional Medicine Training
Beginning of clinical practice. Post-graduate study in functional medicine. Essentials of a root cause analysis through lab studies, symptom assessment and lifestyle habits
2016
Functional Neurology Training
Functional neurology training uses targeted sensory and physical exercises to harness neuroplasticity. It rehabilitates fatigued neural pathways, optimizing nervous system balance to rapidly enhance mental stamina, focus, and cognitive resilience.
2021
Somatic curriculum
Two decades of yoga and Taoist internal arts distilled into short protocols professionals will genuinely repeat.
